Feeling A Bit Meh?

So, I know this blog is all about speaking life online and motivating others, but right now, I’m feeling a bit meh! emotiguy-1654859_1920 Uh, I think I even have the wrong Emoji plugged in because this one is looking more sad and pitiful.  I’m not really feeling sad or pitiful, just a little, well, meh.  I know that things will look up and that life is full of challenges, changes, and ups and downs, so ultimately I’m not going to let anything get the best of me.

Okay, so here comes the motivating part.  All of us go through times of struggle, anxiety, confusion, or even depression, however, the way we deal with these times and circumstances is what gets us through and builds us up.  I’d like to think of it as moments used to build character, step outside of ourselves, rely on the strength of our creator, and time to reflect and redirect.  With all of that being said, I for one feel better already and I hope that I have encouraged someone else as well.  emoticon-1610573_1920So, just hold on, and hold out because although things may not be as you wish this moment, things do and always will change. How to Find Motivation… 10 Steps that I Find Motivating

Motivation is the driving force behind the who, what, when, where, and why we do what we do in any given circumstance.  According to Wikipedia, motivation “gives the reason for people’s actions, desires, and needs. Motivation can also be defined as one’s direction to behavior, or what causes a person to want to repeat a behavior and vice versa.”  Many times, I have asked myself, what is my motivation whenever I am trying something new, would like to accomplish a goal, or wondering why I am even attempting to do something different.

I am sure we all have those moments in time when it is more challenging to find motivation than other times. I have found that the following 10 steps have helped me get motivated and perhaps can help you at some point as well.praying-1713281_640

How to find motivation…

  1. Take a moment to just sit still, relax, and meditate.

  2. Reflect on what you have already accomplished.

  3. Think about what you would like to accomplish next.

  4. Make a list of short-term goals.

  5. Make a list of long-term goals.

  6. Listen to some soft instrumental music, nature sounds, and/or worship songs.

  7. PRAY. 

  8. Read the Bible.

  9. Speak Life, saying what you can and will do.

  10. Repeat as much as necessary.

These are just my personal 10 steps that I find motivating in determining my motivation many times in life.  These 10 steps are suggestive and what has worked for me personally in the past.  I am not a doctor, scientist, theologian, or any type of guru, but I just want to share what helps me in my times of needing to find my motivation. I hope it will help someone else.

Weight Watchers, Here I come! I love French Fries…

I am doing it… again!  Weight Watchers, Here I come! I love french fries, bread, pizza, fried chicken, anything drizzled in caramel, cupcakes, and “You Name It”.  However, I do also love healthy foods such as all fruits, salad, quinoa, grilled anything, and almost all vegetables. asparagus-2169232_640

So why has losing weight been such a struggle in the past?

I start having too much of the unhealthy foods and not enough healthy foods. Moderation, Moderation, moderation… Everything in moderation is my new motto.  Much like the mantra of Weight Watchers, I will still have some of the foods I love, but in moderation.

I have actually done Weight Watchers in the past and I lost 20 pounds within the first two months.  My problem was I didn’t stick with it and I started back eating too much of the unhealthy foods I craved.  Well,  here I go again, but this time I am not going to deprive myself of the foods I enjoy, I will just have them in moderation, and not everyday. I won’t even have them most days, but I will focus on making healthier choices, eating less, and trying my best to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Why Are Fidget Spinners so Spectacular?

Are fidget spinners so spectacular? My 11-year-old son told me about fidget spinners this weekend and he is just set on getting one.  He was so excited because he said they help you to focus and concentrate in school.  He also said that almost all of his classmates have one and even his teacher uses one.  I was really interested when he said that his teacher has one and the fact that they are allowed to use them in school.

So what is a fidget spinner? I went straight to my search engine and discovered the Wikipedia definition of a fidget spinner.  According to Wikipedia,  “The toy may help people who have trouble focusing or fidgeting by acting as a release mechanism for nervous energy or stress.” These stress relieving toys are a hot commodity because we searched almost every 7-Eleven in our area and they were all sold out.  It was pretty fun because another child and his father were on the same treasure hunt, lol!  Wherever we went, we saw them.  Also the employees knew immediately that we were looking for fidget spinners as soon as we entered the store looking anxious.

My son told me that most of his friends purchased their fidget spinners from 7-Eleven or online.  I want to make sure I get him a good one and that it is worth the price.  I have seen them on Amazon from about $1.99 -$43.99.  Yes, it’s a pretty wide range and I’m not even considering paying any where near the latter price. There may be some that cost even more.

I would like to know your opinion on the price, the best ones to purchase, and if you feel that the fidget spinner is a real stress reliever for children, or even adults.  Why are fidget spinners so spectacular? I may purchase one for myself because I’m all about various ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
